Overview
Car to car photographs of the new rentable Porsche GT4 from Fredy Barth.
In order to showcase the new race car from Fredy Barth, the Porsche GT4, we shot some photos of it on the race track in Anneau du Rhin. These were later printed in a booklet and advertised towards visitors and participants of the regular trackdays hosted by Fredy Barth.
Behind the Scenes
This was the first time I got to shoot car to car. Going 50km/h on a race track doesn’t sound that fast. But sitting in an open trunk going at that speed is different. Now just decrease the shutter speed and voilà – nice motion blur we go!
car to car
Sometimes, in order to get a nice car shot from up front or from the side, standing next to it wont do the job. So you either go with a very expensive solution of a rigged car with a camera crane on top – or – the simpler, much riskier solution: Sitting in the trunk of another car and leaning out grabbing onto a safety-belt!
Project Info
Since working with Fredy Barth for quite a while now, we’ve always been improving our efficiency!
For this shoot we only had around 3-4 laps during lunch time but because I knew the racing driver as well as the chasing car driver we could communicate really well, everything worked out and we got the shots we needed.
